Skiing
generates a lot of travel in the U.S. over the winter. Upwards
of 60 percent of all skiers on any given mountain, on any given
day, have traveled there from afar for the downhill thrills. The
other 40 or so travel too, from fairly nearby.
Our
contributor Pippin Ross is a lifelong skier. She's been driving
up to the slopes of New England for years.
But
this year, she decided to join the younger, grunge set and ride
down the mountain on a board, instead of her trusty skis.
Like
any good traveler anywhere, Pippin's always up for trying something
new and daring -- no matter how painful.
