Tips for Scotland

I have a funny dining story which is actually my mother's. She was in Scotland on a vacation with my dad. On one of their nights out, their waiter wasn't very gregarious at first. But with every trip back to the kitchen he became more and more friendly. When dessert came around, my mother had ordered a lovely chocolate gateau (cake). The waiter asked if she'd like cream on top.

Well you need to know my mother isn't known for her quick decisions. And before she could answer, the waiter said, "Ah, what the hell. Live a little," as he poured a generous amount of cream on top of her cake. My mother suspects with every visit back to the kitchen he had been sipping something other than tea! SO when in Scotland take the gateau and the cream! But if you don't want the cream you better speak up before your waiter makes the decision for you.

p.s. My husband and I love your show, Rudy.
