Karen Muller

I was fascinated by Karin Muller's story not only for its own sake, but also because it is so much like mine. I quit a lucrative job (lawyering) and circled the Pacific Rim, by motorcycle, ferry, kayak, tuk tuk, bus, and everything else. It was the trip of a lifetime, and fulfillment of childhood dreams of adventure: grizzlies and yakuza, calderas and arctic gales, monks and pimps, killer whale bubbles under my paddles, handshakes with orangutans, breakfast vodka with firemen in Kamchatka, the coral spawn on the barrier reef... I could go on...
