Traveling between Tucson and Phoenix
Maybe because Tucson is my home town, and I just spent a trip into
northern Arizona with my teen-aged son, I found Rudy's advice to the
woman traveling to Phoenix bad, confusing and, worst of all,
inaccurate!!
First, my son was bored with Sedona, but found Meteor Crater and
Sunset Crater fascinating. Much better choice for a teenager. Totally
awesome! And probably less crowded this time of year than Sedona,
which might be nice for mom (shopping, galleries), but not for the
kids.
Second, you talked about traveling between Phoenix and Tucson, and
seeing Organ Pipe National Park. It is located south of Ajo, near the
Mexican border, not between Tucson and Phoenix! Maybe you were
thinking of Saguaro National Monument, located in two parks, one just
west and one east of Tucson?
Then you mention San Xavier (pronounced by Tucsonans as "san ahveer")
del Bac, but mentioned calling Phoenix tourism. What were you
thinking? San Xavier is located just south of Tucson. Try a little
research next time, Rudy.
