A Little Travelin' Music
When traveling by ATV I like Handle's "Water Music." Driving Interstate 5
in California between LA and Sacramento the stimulation and infectuous
rhythm of zydeco by John or Gino De La Fose, conteract the boredom of the
route and the tule fog. The Texas Tornados, Flaco Jiminez and Butch
Hancock serve well when corossin the Mojave Desert. For a burst of
adrenalin anywhere, I sing along with Tom Leher. "Poisioning the Pigeons
in the Park," is better than a cup of coffee if sung while the windows
are down. Driving the Old Redwood Highway in Northern California goes well
with Eine Kleine Nacht Musik and Bach Preludes, Tocattas and Fugues for
organ. I need this to relax between assaults by speeding logging trucks
tailgating my little Toyota MR2- tranquility and terror. The Columbia
River Gorge in Oregon- Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie, Sleepy LaBeef. For
commuting between Sierra Madre, CA and the Jet Propulsion Lab, je prefere
Edith Piaf, Charles Aznavour, Lous Capart, Jean-Pierre Breteche or Felix
Le Clerc. Someday I hope to have an out-of-body experience wherein my body
commutes while my spirit cavorts in Paris, or Brittany or Corsica or
Morocco or....
I listen to the show to learn and to be entertained. Thanks for doing a
good job.
