Driving memories
I've traveled around the world twice and have had harried
encounters on the coastal road of Croatia to Beltway driving in
DC. But by far the worst drivers I've experienced were as a
child driving with my parents up to vacation on Prince Edward's
Island.
Coming from rural central NY we decided to take a
scenic route through Massachusetts and then from Boston head
north along the coast. Unfortunately I think everyone in Boston
had the same idea. I remember staring out the window as
hundreds of cars tried to vie for a place in one of the four
lanes flowing through the toll-booths. The memories of innocent-
looking mothers screaming obscenities out their windows still
makes me laugh as I remember too, how my mother kept
whispering "oh dear"
yes ..Boston, indeed.
