Motoring in a Morgan
Considering a motor tour through the hills and dales of England? Why not do it in style in a Morgan? This classic, hand built British roadster is the only racing car ever to be offered for sale in a window of Harrod's department store. And although it isn't the only way to get around the British Isles, as The Savvy Traveler's Tom Verde discovered it's one of the most exciting.

Rebuilding Berlin
Our next stop today takes us to Berlin which used to be the place to feel the Cold War up close and personal. But that's all changed in the wake of German reunification. The plan to relocate the country's capital to Berlin has transformed the city into an enormous construction zone. Reporter Tom Banse tells us that the rebuilding of Berlin has become an unlikely draw for tourists, although they may still be surprised to find that much of the city's most familiar symbols, like the Berlin Wall have almost disappeared.
Potsdamer Platz construction pictures can be seen on the web at:

Photo-Op
Arthur Grace is a Los Angeles based freelance photographer who spent years working for Time and Newsweek. His forte is shooting portraits---from Lech Walesa to Robin Williams whose picture is on the cover of Arthur's book "Comedians". Now when I'm traveling and see -- say -- a fascinating looking local person I'd like to capture on film, I never know quite how to do it. So I asked Arthur how he would approach that situation.
Alaska Day
This weekend marks a special anniversary in Alaskan history and a time when many in the 49th state breath a sigh of relief -- why? The answer in this postcard from Geo Beach of KBBI radio in Homer.
Deal of the Week
Did you ever think you'd see the day when you could fly coast to coast for $100 each way? How about a fare like that without all the usual small print about booking ahead, staying over a Saturday night, or being born under Libra with Scorpio rising?
Well, say hello to SunJet, a low-cost carrier based in Long Beach, about a half-hour drive south of downtown Los Angeles. Starting November 15th, little SunJet begins flying between Long Beach and Newark Airport, just across the river from Manhattan. And fares are $99 each way with no restrictions. Here's the catch-and you knew there had to be one: As seats sell, the price rises. But I checked this week, and 99-dollar seats were still available.
Then there's Tower Air which flies between New York's Kennedy airport and L.A. Tower charges $100 each way on selected flights. The service on Tower Air can be terrible-it's a cattle car situation sometimes. But you can't ship cattle this cheaply.
About a hundred bucks cross country on SunJet or Tower Air -- that's my deal of the week!
