Every year, 6 million kids head to summer camp. Some stay for a week; some stay for 2 months. Some stay close to home; some travel halfway around the world. Some go to specialty camps, like those for soccer or sailing; some head to traditional canoeing, crafts and scary-ghost-stories camps. But wherever your camper might be headed, one thing is certain: If you haven't selected a camp yet, better get crackin' -- bunks are filling up fast. How do you find a good camp? What are the myths about summer camps that might cloud your decision? To help answer these questions, we talk to Jeff Solomon. He's the executive director of the National Camp Association. Here are some of the topics Jeff addresses ...

  • Deciding if your child is old enough for a sleep-away camp.
  • Kinds of summer camps.
  • Camps for kids with special needs.
  • What you should expect to pay.
  • The best way to find a good camp.
  • Questions parents should ask when considering a camp.
  • The biggest myths about selecting a summer camp.
