Wheels up! It may be the delightful beginning of warm weather in the East, but to car rental companies in Florida, it's headache time. They have thousands of extra rental cars that were used by tourists this past winter. Too many cars. Cars they need to get out of Florida and back to Northeastern states where the demand for rentals increases as the weather turns favorable. So if you're looking for a cheap way to get from Florida to any of 13 Northeastern states, Avis will give you a compact for a mere $9 a day! An intermediate car for only a buck more. There are also SUVs, convertibles, and minivans as low as $14 a day. You can rent between April 13th and June 30th, so you can enjoy a leisurely drive up the East Coast. Well, not too leisurely. There's a maximum seven day rental period. Now, I've mentioned this deal in previous years, but it's so good it's worth repeating. If Avis doesn't have a car where and when you want it, though most major Florida cities are eligible, check out the competition and see if they'll cut you a sweet deal as thanks for getting their cars up north. Wheels up! From Florida for less, that's my Deal of the Week! |
