Fuji Nuts
Just listening to the Saturday show and someone mentioned an
interesting bit of food he had in Japan. It reminded me of
having had Fuji nuts as some point, somewhere. I now forget
where, and unhappily, when. But I do remember Fuji nuts, because they
were so unexpected -- and so good!!
They are made from peanuts. Seemingly, the peanut is split apart, then
a single grain of popped rice is inserted between the two halves of
the nut, then it is tied up with a short piece of seaweed and tied
with a bow!
I recall saying to my companion that it was something that would never
be made and sold in the U.S.!
