Air travel with babies
From personal experience, the best approach for traveling with kids
is to carry extra bottles of plain water, with perhaps a drop of
apple juice added, for the child to suck on during take-off and
landing. This helps clear the baby's ears. Also, bring extra diapers
& clean clothes ( you always need more than you expect) and Ziplock
bags of Cheerios or age-appropriate crackers.
We've always found airline staff to be very helpful: holding meals
for a parent with a sleeping child in their lap, providing a bag of
ice for medicine needing refrigeration, etc. And don't forget to call
ahead to order children's meals from the airlines-they make great
fruit/cheese plates or peanut butter/jelly sandwiches or hot dogs.
Thanks for the great programs!
